LEGO Drive for the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital - March 1-31, 2015
BERT is collecting new/unopened LEGO toy kits for all ages for the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, Maine. With your help, we can make each patient's stay a little brighter and introduce them to engineering and the FIRST Robotics Competition. We have collection boxes for your donation at any school in the MSAD#6 district, NAPA Buxton or Cradles & Crayons Daycare. BERT also invited all FRC teams at the Pine Tree District Competition to donate. Fellow NE district teams can bring their LEGO kits to our pit.
Spaghetti Dinner and Kickoff - January 3, 2015
BERT hosted a spaghetti supper at the West Gorham Union Church. A demonstration of the previous year's robot was shown before the altar previewing this year's competition, Recycle Rush.
BERT Craft Fair - November 28-29, 2014
BERT had its part in the Bonny Eagle Craft Fair selling baked goods, coffee, and the glorious coupon books. Unfortunately, when lunch couldn't be delivered, the team took the task upon itself and ordered cheese and pepperoni pizza from Low's. People lined up by the tens to buy a slice, some as many as they could hold in a single hand. BERT sold more than twenty boxes in three hours. It would be an understatement to say that the turnout was anything but perfect.
Robot Rodeo - October 18, 2014
Gardiner High School hosted a competition that was called the Robot Rodeo. This was not like any other robot competition. There was a set up obstacle course with a small hay maze, a bridge, and at the end a scoring goal from the previous 2014 game. The goal was to get through those obstacles and shoot a goal. When that was finished there was a robot dancing competition, where the first few moments of the dance was done autonomously, without people controlling it, then the rest was done by the people.
Spirit Rally and Parade- October 4, 2014
BERT members had to wake up very early in order to make it to the early pep rally at Bonny Eagle High School. Our robot shot the aerial assist ball at the other students in our audience at the rally. During the Parade, we were going to show off our robot but due to the bad weather conditions we had to simply be spirited without our robot. We all had fun cheering for BERT nonetheless.
Mainely Spirit - September 20, 2014
BERT gathers with other local teams for a friendly off-season competition. Our team won the elite "Wicked Best Cheeyah" Award.
Freshman Orientation Day - August 27, 2014
The Bonny Eagle Robotics Team attended the BEHS Freshman Orientation Day in late August. There was a greater and better turnout than the previous, granting the team more female members than anticipated. An unfortunate twist in events, the school had to be evacuated because of a fire alarm. However, not all was lost, for more freshman were considered and educated about BERT in the parking lot, which might not have hapenned if things had gone unplanned.
Yard Sale Bottle Drive - July 21, 2014
BERT had a yard sale this summer on the front lawn of NAPA Auto parts in Buxton. We had donations of what people were selling. We also had a meat raffle going on at that same time, and we ended up earning quite a bit of money from that. The bottle drive that we had at the same time was a very successful one, and we ended up earning money from that as well.

We showed off Pneuman at the 2014 Standish Parade and won the Most Entertaining award.

Car Wash And 50/50 Raffle
B.E.R.T operated a 50/50 raffle and a car wash station at N.A.P.A Auto Parts in Buxton near 3-D Variety, as well as a yard sale.
On December 20th, 2013, our team attended a Red Claws basketball game at the Portland Exposition Building to raise money through a 50/50 raffle and participate in a shoot-off during half-time. We attended this event with Team 2648 from Messalonskee, Team 172 from (Fal-gor) Falmouth-Gorham, and Team 58, Riot Crew. These teams sold tickets to their friends and family to raise money in addition to the 50/50 raffle. Despite a few minor robot malfunctions, we were quite successful.
On December 14th, 2013, our team sent three representatives to the FLL Championship in the Augusta Civic Center to demonstrate our robot to the FLL league and support the Bonny Eagle Lego League, The Earthshakers, Team 8300.
WLOB Radio - November 2013
A few members of the Bonny Eagle Robotics Team were invited to the AM radio show WLOB to talk about their innovative, community-benefiting idea for the Rockwell Automation contest, Engineering For Our Future. Team members thought up the idea of a style of sneakers or shoes that would generate enough electricity to power minimal electronic devices such as cell phones, laptop computers, G.P.S navigators, and so many others.
