Team Committees
The animation committee needs to come up with a 30-second animation on the theme of the year. For 2010: "Change Your World." Their animation must demonstrate how their idea "would change our world -- for the better" (US FIRST).
The fund-raising committee leads all team members and volunteers in earning the money needed to attend a regional/national competition, to create T-shirts and give-aways, and more.
US FIRST Robotics Competition teams use Autodesk Inventor Professional software to "conceptualize, visualize, digitally prototype, and analyze" (US FIRST) their robot design before actual construction.
The Machining Committee does the actual machining of the robot's parts, striving to demonstrate creativity and ingenuity. They learn to use equipment such as Bridgeports, welding rigs, lathes, and more.
The Media Committee creates business plans, advertises fund-raising efforts, organizes demonstrations for schools and businesses, creates brochures, photographs the team's progress during the entire US FIRST Robotics season, and more.
The Programming Committee programs the robotic controllers and logic for autonomous operation. For the 2010 season, Java is the programming language in use.
The Safety Committee is responsible for preventing injury to team members and insuring compliance with safety standards during competitions.
The web design group makes the website for the Bonny Eagle Robotics Team (BERT). Every day we upload new content from videos of teammates doing random stuff to robot failures or successes. We spent a lot of time recording, taking pictures, and uploading them to our website.
