Week 6 is upon us!! - Mon, Feb 14, 2011

We are continuing to make slow and steady progress. This week's agenda: Finish installing and wiring the motors that drive the arm and claw. We have one installed and checked, and two others will be on real soon (operational by Tuesday or Wednesday we hope). We're finding we need to adjust or add to the brackets that connect the motors to the frame, to add to the stability of the motors while operating the arm and claw.

The mini-bot works awesome and we have a deployment design ready to go when the arm motors are fully installed.

RRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Thu, Feb 10, 2011

In spirit this year we have recently developed new forms of how to show how awesome we are. We have a new T-shirt design with the image of an eagle on a coat of arms grasping a banner with BERT 133 printed on it. For a give-away we designed and ordered rubber wrist bands in hunter green with white text reading Bonny Eagle Robotics First team 133. From the company whom we ordered our T-shirts from we also had the shirt design printed on a cape we made for the mascot. YES, this year we WILL actually have an Eagle mascot.

Week 4..making progress! - Mon, Feb 7, 2011

Week 4 has come to a close, we're making steady progress. The bumpers have been completely done since last week, both sets, complete with mounting hardware and painted numbers. We've been test-driving the robot and making adjustments to the drive system. We have all the arm pieces fabricated and have been putting on the sprokets, chains and other hardware. We're machining motor/gearbox mounts and other hardware and should have the lower arm running early this week, and the whole arm and claw running by the end of the week.

Malinda Goulet - Sat, Feb 5, 2011

Malinda became a mentor in the 2010-2011 season, when her husband Ted became an advisor. She does all behind the scenes organization and accounting and keeping the team on budget. She helps with other fundraising projects such as sponsor letters, bottle drives, cookie dough and bake sales. She also takes care of making hotel reservations, ordering of supplies and spirit committee items, such as t-shirts, hats, and giveaways.

Progress Report... End of week 3 - Mon, Jan 31, 2011

Just letting you know what's been going on in the BERT world...
We just finished Week number 3! We're half way there.

The Mini-Bot prototype is almost done, the plan is to test it out and make adjustments this week and have the finished Mini-Bot by the end of
the week.

The Host-Bot has the drive system on, and was being driven/tested this weekend, it was pretty awesome.

Lots of comittee stuff happening! - Mon, Dec 6, 2010

We've been making progress in our comittees! The website has been going though some updates and changes thanks to Eleanor O'Neill and website design folks. They will continue to update student and mentor info, as well as updated sponsor information. We've been slowly progressing with Inventor and 3D Studio Max, we have a few dedicated students learning (and teaching), getting ready for build season. The machining teams have been meeting at Eagle Industries on Sundays, working with Ron Garland and learning how to machine parts, work with the equipment.
