It's exciting to bring a "hands-on" educational experience to our students. They also educate us in many ways. The USFIRST robotics program fortifies the values of science and technology in every participant whether a student or mentor.

MSDS

MSDS

Material safety data sheets (MSDS) are vital sheets that tell the person who uses them the makeup of the hazardous materials you are using, as well as how to neutralize the material.

For example, you can have a MSDS for spray paint, which explains the physical characteristics of the paint, the odor, its water solubility, and its boiling range, the symptoms of both chronic and acute exposure, first aid treatment procedures, stability, proper disposal procedures, neutralizing agent, and special precautions.

Hotel Safety

Hotel Safety

Here are some basic tips to ensure you have a safe stay at any hotel that you use while at a FRC competition:

Always deadbolt your door when you are inside the room. Just remember to let your roommates in before going to sleep.

Always use the peephole before opening the door, even if it sounds like a person you know.

Remember, housekeeping goes into your room to clean, so put anything valuable you do not want to see on Ebay in the dresser, or the room safe, if the room has one. Just make sure to note the safe’s combo prior to using it

Safety

Pit Safety:

This is a list on how to remain safe while visiting the Pit. Remember, the Pit is a place where safety is foremost

  • Robots have precedence. Stay out of their way when you see one being moved around on a cart. They weigh 120 pounds, and cannot stop on dimes.

  • The Pit does not allow any food or drink to be brought into the pit, nor do they allow food to be consumed inside the Pit. Please do not try to smuggle in food or drink. The risk of spillage is too great, and you do not want to mess up a FRC team’s ‘bot.

Lots of comittee stuff happening!

We've been making progress in our comittees! The website has been going though some updates and changes thanks to Eleanor O'Neill and website design folks. They will continue to update student and mentor info, as well as updated sponsor information. We've been slowly progressing with Inventor and 3D Studio Max, we have a few dedicated students learning (and teaching), getting ready for build season. The machining teams have been meeting at Eagle Industries on Sundays, working with Ron Garland and learning how to machine parts, work with the equipment.
