Putting the Chain back on with the New Kicker

putting_chain_on_thumb.jpg

After adding rubber padding to the kicker, it is put back on the robot, and the chains must be re-assembed. Aren't chain tools fun!

The BERT133 Quick-Release Bumper System

Bumper 2 thumb

Adding the bumpers to the robot.

The requirement for a quick-release bumper system prompted many great ideas. The team came up with one that we have never seen used before (thanks Ron). The bumpers were outfitted with a piece of u-channel that would slip over the robot frame. This u-channel attached to the frame with quick-release hitch pins (ball-spring-detente type) allowing for fast removal and installation.
