The Machining of the Robot. - Tue, Feb 14, 2012

The machining people are busy for making the parts of the robots. The machining people turn raw metals into parts for the robot. Parts like the brackets and the shaft. They also make the motor mounts. Today they are machining more parts for our robot we are going to use for the compitition at Manchester.

Design Of Our Robot - Tue, Feb 14, 2012

The robot we are building this year is designed to shoot basketballs. It has a rectangular base with four eight inch plastic wheels. It also has a shaft that is fourty six inches tall right now, but will be sixty inches tall when we put the hood on the top of it. There is an opening at the bottom with conveyer belts to bring it in the shaft. The shaft's conveyer belts will then shoot the basketballs out the top and out of the hood on the top. The hood on the top is so the basketball will spin on the way to the hoops. This robot can hold up to three basketballs in it's shaft.

Lots of things have been happening! - Tue, Jan 24, 2012

It has been a very busy week. Just a few of the things that have been done.

T-shirts have been ordered, again this year we are having the member's name put on the sleeve of the t-shirts.

Bumpers have been completed and our team number (133) has been painted on the fabric.

The base of the robot has been completed and we have started on building the shooting mechanism.

Some of our team members have been picking and attaching the eagle logo and name to our safety giveaways.

Brian, Josh P and Josh G are still waiting for the 2012 animiation criteria to be released.

Last night, slippery roads - Tue, Jan 24, 2012

The Advisors had to send a e-mail to all members about the roads last night. Since the roads were slippery due to freezing rain, it was up to the members if they wanted to come to TEM's. There were several members who still showed up and more work was done on the robot. Of course Ted, Scott and John (advisors/mentors)were there.

Saturday's progress - Sun, Jan 15, 2012

We had another busy day at robotics yesterday:
On the competition robot we built the frame, and put together the gear boxes. We cut out the wood for the configuration of our new bumpers.

Our inventor team worked on the drawing for building parts for the robot.

For the practic robot we added spaces to the frame so the wheels could line up with the sprockets.

The spirit committee worked on a list of cheers and discussed things they wanted to do at competition.
