Build Season has begun!

After the kickoff on Saturday, January 7th our all day brainstorming on Sunday, January 8th was very successful. After reviewing the game rules and field design, the team broke off into 4 groups to come up with concepts for building the robot. The ideas and designs the members came up with were very interesting and together the team has agreed on one major design with a few variables to work out. This week will be all about finalizing the design and building a prototype for testing.

All returning members and new members should attend the meeting that will be held Wednesday from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Presenting to the school board and other news

The team met at TEM Inc. on Wedndesday to accomplish two things;
1) Discuss and plan out what we're presenting to the school board.
2) Have the team vote for next season's team captains.

BERT won the 2011 Quality Award sponsored by Motorola at the Granite State Regional Competition!

Congratulations to everyone on the team for winning the Quality Award sponsored by Motorola. This award celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication. At the FIRST Granite State Regional it was announced that "This team and machine displayed a high degree of excellence and set a high standard for themselves and stood out as an example to other teams. We are proud to recognize this winning team and machine as a quality standard for FIRST. This robot is built for the battlefield. It has an arm strong enough to double as a floor jack for Dean's Hummer.

Time Warner Cable has given BERT a grant!

We recently recieved a $1,000.00 grant from Time Warner Cable. This money will be used for much needed equipment upgrades for BERT, to help us finish up this season and get us into the next.

Special thanks goes out to Time Warner Cable!

Autodesk 3D design has been submitted

We entered our submission to the Autodesk website last night (woo hoo)! Thanks to everyone involved who helped to design and/or create the parts of the final model. It's quite a process. Autodesk likes to see how the project proceeded from concept to final design, and the use of Inventor software to help with the design process and to solve problems. We explained to Autodesk how we as a team came up with several concepts and ideas for our robot right after kick off, and within the first two weeks and a plywood prototype, came up with what was to become our final design.
