Robot Repaired

Well, the robot is repaired. It doesn't contain the mini-bot deployment anymore since it was severely damaged during competition. The gripper is now working better. It's ready to show off to the school board.

The excitement is building

Ted and Scott have done a fantastic job of bringing the team through the 6-week build period. The students have put in many hours to create, design, and build the host robot and mini-bot. Both bots look incredible! The whole team is quite excited for competition.

Not only have they created a nice bot but also have created a permanent logo and a great plan to demonstrate team spirit at competition. It truly is going to be exciting!

It's in the bag!

Well, the robot is bagged!! It's awaiting its trip to Manchester. Only one week to go... Go Teams!!

It's got reaching power!!

Unbelievable to watch this arm in action!! When fully extended, it has no problem reaching the highest peg. Tonight we'll continue adding devices to the arm for better control and hopefully have the opportunity to test out the program. Make sure to revisit our site. Videos and/or pictures of the arm will be posted soon.

The safety team is forging safely ahead with plans for this year's competition!

The safety team is developing plans for this years competition. Although the safety team is small in size it is large in innovation. We hope to impress attendees with our ideas for communicating the culture of safety to others.

Starting the 2011 season

The 2011 season has begun!! It starts with two new advisors, Ted Goulet and Scott Tracy, twenty one student members, and a new home and main sponsor TEM Inc. The team is presently busy fund-raising and training preparing themselves for what's to come during the months of January, February, and March. Please take time to come back to our site over the next few months to see our team's progress. More updates to come.

The Move Has Happened!

The move to B.E.R.T.'s new home at TEM Inc. took place on Sunday May 2, 2010. The team thanks our previous main sponsor Eagle Industries for 10 great years of sponsorship, generousity, dedication, and incredible support. They jumped in to help the team back in the year 2000 at a time when the team needed them most. Thank you!!

Watch for more blogs as the team moves forward with their new sponsor and leadership.

Competition - Day 2

Day 2

The corners of the transmission assembly are gone! First match of the day the robot hung without problem. It was nerve racking watching the referees verify the height of the robot. It scored 2 points!!

The last two matches were tough and the hang didn't quite happen but we still ended up in 18th overall in the seeding rounds. Good chance to be selected for finals.

Well, we were not selected for finals but instead were second alternate.

Finals

First Day of Competition

We have played out our first (no pun intended) seeding matches. Through 7 we are in 27th. We also took care of the corners on the transmission. Without them we are hoping to score more 2 pointers by hanging. There are 3 matches left for tomorrow morning. If all goes well we will improve our standing and be part of the finals!!

Let you know tomorrow.

Last Bottle Drive!!

We had our last bottle drive for the season today. It was necessary for the team to raise $491.94 to guarantee every member a cost-free trip to the regional in Manchester, NH. Well the team, with the help of parents and mentors, was able to raise $741.57!! A great job done by all to achieve and surpass our goal.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible today.
